Bought two sets of tuners from him
Beautiful
Great service and communication
Highly recommend his shop
Great selection, price, and quality.
This Ramirez String Winder is not just a tool, but also a work of art. They are incredibly difficult to find in stock anywhere in woods other than ebony. Geoff Ferdon of XGuitars was kind enough to reserve me one from an upcoming order he had placed. Many thanks to XGuitars for excellent service!
Geoff is the consummate professional. The guitar was stunning as was his setup and service after the sale.
Does just what it's supposed to do. The Gitano guitar support fits in the case with my guitar perfectly. Would recommend.
Excellent guitar. Fast shipping, well inspected and set up. Thanks to Geoff for his valuable support
TUNERS GORGEOUS, SMOOTH, and EXCELLENT SERVICE!
I've had the ErgoPlay Tappert guitar support for a long time, but I've started to use it only recently. It's incomparably better than using a fussy and unstable footstool, especially because the free movement of my left ankle is limited, and I cannot hold my foot on the footstool comfortably. Either the footstool starts to slide away or my left heel starts "burning" very soon after I place my foot on it.
Guitar rests are a much better solution to the problem of holding the instrument in a position that's conducive to a healthy body position and easy left hand movement.
That said, every guitar support has its own problems, characteristics or disadvantages that are impossible to avoid with that particular design. ErgoPlay guitar supports work with suction cups, which may be unsuitable on scratchy, matte or uneven surfaces, especially on woods with open pores and a "natural" finish. These supports are very sturdy, with just the right amount of flexibility through the elasticity of the suction cups. Along with that, they tend to be slightly on the bulky side, and they add a noticeable weight to the weight of the instrument. They are also a bit fussy to use, because you need to attach and adjust them before each session and remove them afterwards if you want to put the instrument back to its case. After many practice sessions these routine tasks can become a bit of a chore and they certainly don't facilitate picking up the instrument quickly to try out a musical idea before it gets forgotten.
I'm 6 foot+ tall so I always use support to help my posture, usually suction cups, but they slip off my Martin. After some research, I bought the Sagework Magnetic support (standard) and it's amazing! Take your time to install it correctly (it's not hard!) and it's so easy to deal with after that.
I play musical theater, so I often have very quick changes from electric to acoustic. Sagework allows me to grab my acoustic and be comfortable and ready to play in no time.
I'm not a classical player, so I have the Sagework set up to rest on right thigh. I find the standard height is plenty high for this style of playing. I use it on the lowest settings for both sides. I love it!
As usual, Geoff exceded my expectations. I did need the strings semi-urgently and he managed to get the package to me very quickly
Hi Geoff
Still loving the Ramirez!
I love the tuner, easy to clip on, easy to understand - consistent and accurate!
When the owner happens to be a formally-educated classical and flamenco guitarist with extensive performance experience, I know that I am in expert hands when purchasing classical guitar strings or considering related service needs. The inventory and options are quite bountiful.
Out of concern for the Canadian red cedar face of a newly-acquired Jose Rodriguez guitar, I sought a minimally invasive tap plate. The Kling-on has filled that need quite nicely. It adheres well but leaves no trace when removed, and it was a simple matter to adjust the shape slightly using a pair of sharp scissors.
Seriously the best upgrade I have done so far! I will be upgrading my others as well!! So smooth!!
I purchased a 1C in order to leave it at my sister's house, rather than travel with my Javier Mengual instrument. I wasn't expecting a lot from the 1C, honestly, other than it being an instrument I wouldn't hate practicing on. Well, the 1C turned out to be much more than that.
Like all Alhambra guitars, it's built like a tank. Even though it's very light (I'm used to my 13lb Mengual) it's solid. The top looks beautiful, with a nice grain. The back, sides, and neck have an interesting texture. They feel almost like a composite, but they're excellent under hand. The neck is smooth and easy to play. The feel is so similar to my Mengual that there was essentially zero adjustment time. The action is a touch lower, but that's no biggie. I can't drive this guitar like I can my Mengual, or the G will buzz, but I'm not performing on it. I can practice just fine. In fact, though I wouldn't, obviously, play a concert on it, in a casual setting I could play for people without feeling like I shouldn't.
So, how does it sound? It's surprisingly resonant, and has a very nice tonality. Out of the box, it's a bit nasal and thin. However, after putting on D'Addario EJ46 strings and playing it for a week, the sound has started to open up. With more play time, it will improve and warm up nicely. If this were a guitar I played more often than just when I visit, it would become quite excellent. As a student instrument, it's perfect. The sound will develop such that a new player will be able to develop a real sound concept.
This is, in fact, a real guitar in the sense that one could play this guitar for years before needing to step up to a better instrument. Does its sound match that of a more expensive instrument? No, obviously. But, does it sound like it's got the same DNA as a fine instrument? Yes, absolutely - no question. Putting on your favorite strings makes a difference. Perhaps changing to a bone nut and saddle might improve the sound marginally, but it's not really needed. Alhambra doesn't make junk, and they choose materials that produce the best instrument for its price. Always. You can shop Alhambra guitars without any concern other than budget. Wherever you land, you'll get the best instrument your money can buy.
As to Geoff, and XGuitars, you can also count on the best, every time. Geoff will work with you, guiding and advising, until you make a purchase that you are 100% certain is the correct one. His QC is absolute, and he delivers every time.
This has been, start to finish, another wonderful experience. Thank you Geoff.
OK, now stop reading and go practice!!
These strings were recommended by Geoff for my Alhambra 9P Senorita. They give my guitar clear projection with beautiful tone, excellent dynamic range, and resonance. They seriously make my short scale guitar sound quite large. I plan to use these from now on.
This Sagework Umbra support is a great addition to my classical guitar. It holds my guitar in the perfect position without compromising the instrument’s tone and projection. And I can play with both my feet placed comfortably on the floor. I like Umbra’s tilt mechanism that allows me to lean the guitar towards me at will. The support is secured with powerful magnets, is sturdy, and looks great. It holds its shape when putting on and off my guitar, and it folds up to fit in my case. I’m happy Geoff recommended this wonderful tool for me!
Geoff,
Re: Cordoba C9 Parlor
Warm & Rich, Balanced and Unexpected Volume!
Playability and Comfort....Outstanding!
Craftsmanship and Aesthetics....High-End!
Final Verdict....
The Cordoba C9 Parlor is a "best-seller" for a reason. It is arguably one of the best, if not the best, all-solid wood nylon-string guitars under $1000-$1100. It is a fantastic option for students, experienced players looking for a comfortable "couch" guitar, or performers in smaller venues who want a "jackpot" of a guitar that is both beautiful to look at and to play.
Thanks & Best to XGuitars.

Found the tuner on XGuitars, and ordering and delivery went perfectly! Did the replacement myself, high quality tuner, found, and now fixed.
In a world of ever increasing AI agents, company representatives unfamiliar with product lines and friendly yet clueless salespersons.. X guitars has been a breath of fresh air! The owner Geoff holds a deep knowledge, insight and understanding of exactly what I was in search of … my dream classical from Madrid, thru Asheville, North Carolina, USA.
I’d been in search of said instrument for over a year, and being lefty didn't help!
Knowing that Geoff is a master guitarist and luthier brought comfort to me.
Jose Rameriz arrived, and after tuning her up I was blown away with the bloom and sustain emanating from this work of art!!
Forever grateful and reminded every day I pick her up and play. A lifelong dream come true. 🎯💚🤙🏼

Good product that’s easy to apply and very visible. Excellent service too!
Beautiful guitar. The guitar sounds and looks amazing. Excellent quality for the price. Highly recommend the Alhambra 4F and XGuitars.
The EJ51's are, IMHO, the best set out there for near-squeakless performance particularly when using acoustic-electrics where the pick-ups will REALLY capture any friction between the fingers and the wound strings. I was most relieved to find that XGuitars had them in-stock as they were out-of-stock at almost all the other retailers. My thanks for the fast fulfillment and excellent pricing!
The guitar arrived in perfect condition. The owner clearly takes great care of both the instruments and customers.
I've had my new Alhambra 4P for about two weeks now, and I'm besotted. It sounds better every time I take it out of its case. That's not so unusual, I suppose, as newly tuned strings settle in, but I think the guitar itself is becoming more resonant at the same time. It's got a rich, warm tone with plenty of volume but also ample range for dynamics. Because I'm getting old, I appreciate the flatter neck, which requires less strength in my left hand and wrist. I haven't found any false spots -- e.g., where playing a the same note higher up on a lower string is a wee bit off from the same note played on another string. (There's probably a technical term for this, but I don't know it.) I care more about the sound and playability than appearance, but I have to say that this instrument is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The matching case is a must. It really plush, so it cradles the guitar with no give whatsoever. Sure, I know this sounds weird, but I feel like I'm tucking the guitar in for the night when I put it away after an evening's session with it.
From what I can tell, Geoff is everything that you read about him. After talking on the phone for a while, during which he never gave the least impression that he was in a hurry or that he mainly wanted to close the deal, I had absolute confidence that he'd check over the guitar carefully, prepare it for shipping and delivery, and get it to me on the promised date. We've exchanged messages a couple of times since then, and he's always very quick to reply with helpful information.
Finally, I had been worried about buying a guitar online for shipping to my home. I needn't have been. I did try several guitars first at a large music store so that I could get an idea what I was buying, but Geoff's care and service put to rest any concerns I'd had about ordering an instrument online.
